Schools out – Open Source Software is in for Education

When I was shopping with my daughter this afternoon, she purchased a “cool” pencil case for her upcoming year at school since “those” pencil cases always seem, in her vast experience, to be gone by September. While school is out [here], I was pleased that TweetDeck flagged the Creative Contingencies post on 20 FOSS applications for Education. I encourage you to check out the “list of Free and Open Source Software [that] was put together for a presentation at the 2010 conference of CEGSA, the Computers in Education Group South Australia”. While school is in there, and out here, it is really clear that Open Source Software is in for Education!
