A Toast to Open Source Health pt. 3 – open pharma innovation

I would like to thanks Rebecca Fernandez for her Open pharmaceutical innovation post on opensource.com earlier today.  In addition to flagging the Glaxo malaria announcement which I discussed in my blog post earlier this week, Rebecca gives a bit of history on a couple of earlier initiatives by Sanofi-Aventis and Pfizer.  She also includes the following quote by Thomas Senderovitz, MD:  “healthcare solutions can best be innovated, developed, and probably even marketed through the collaboration of many different companies from different industries sharing their expertise and intellectual property.”

While I am rushing off to have coffee with a prospective new client, I propose a toast to promise of open pharma innovation and commons sourcing and will catch up with you later!
